Mike Tremblay (PhD, Toronto) is an adviser to public and private sector organisations in the health/life sciences industry. Working internationally, he advises clients on enabling effective policy and strategy in complex, market-defining areas, such as innovation, research, technology as well as wider health policy issues.

He has advised public and private sector organisations in many countries including Canada, UK, Belgium, France, Germany USA, Netherlands, Spain, Malta, Czech Republic, and Hungary.

He advised the Council of Europe leading to Recommendation (2004)17 on the impact of information technologies on healthcare; he also conducted policy research for the UK Department of Health on European cross-border healthcare, digital interactive television, electronic prescribing, e-health, and artificial intelligence in healthcare.

He recently participated in ground-breaking research on international benchmarking of 4th hurdle systems (economic evaluation) in medicines regulation. He continues to advise on the problems of global trade in counterfeit prescription medicines, and work with pharmaceutical and device sector companies on their strategic business requirements. He has conducted strategic studies in such areas as Internet pharmacies, health system regulation and market liberalisation and mixed health economies.

He has held management positions at Hamilton Health Sciences, and McMaster University in Canada, and an academic  appointment at the Health Services Management Centre, University of Birmingham, UK, where he was Senior Lecturer, Director of the Masters in Quality, Deputy Director of the Public Service MBA and Associate Dean. He has lectured at INSEAD, Cranfield, McMaster, Birmingham, Keele, King's Fund, and been Visiting Research Fellow in health policy at London School of Economics.

He led the UK healthcare consulting practice for EDS, and was a Principal at A.T. Kearney, management consultants, London.

Mike has particular experience with health technologies and new media, as a Director of Eden Communications which set up Living Health, an interactive television service developed for the UK's National Health Service with Telewest and Flextech in the UK.

The consultancy focuses on enabling more effective policy and business strategy through improving the focus and effectiveness of corporate and public policy and the impact of health policy in regulated markets.
